  • One Nation Under God...kind of.

(This is my first and only politically based blog referring specifically to this election. Read it or don’t but know my opinions and views shine through.)

Oh media and the way they pick and choose what is portrayed. I knew this before. I edit things all the time to say, look, appear the way I want them to appear. I was reminded again of this yesterday. Apparently speaking about God being in control and people fighting and even dying for our freedom was not news worthy. Perspective, I guess.

“Well, it looks like America wanted Romney by the popular vote but the electoral gave Obama the presidency. We'll see if America is still standing in 4 years as a free country. God, I hope it is."

“Things that do not change for me after tonight: my household and I will continue to serve The Lord Jesus Christ. I will not fear man, but The Lord. I will pray for our country and for Godly values to prevail as much as possible. I may not have "earthly" joy right now, but I have eternal joy and hope in Christ forever. Amen.”

“Who wants to move to Cananda, eh??”

“I'm worried about our country...especially my kids future.”

“I am sickened by the stupidity of the American people.”

“Disappointed. However, we still need to respect and pray for ALL government officials, even if we disagree with their policies and morals. Trying to remind myself of this so I can go back to sleep.”

“So, Obama "inherited" a crappy economy. Hmmm, wonder who he can blame now??”

Just a couple of many facebook status updates today. I didn’t stay up to watch the announcement. For some reason as I walked in the house and saw what was being reported, I just knew he’d be re-elected. I didn’t sleep well. Honestly, I was disturbed by this fact or the idea of this fact.

This was the doing of ourselves – of America. What arrogant and ignorant people we are. I’m honestly sickened by this fact as I think so many are this morning. I will go as far to say, I have a hard time believing anyone that calls themselves a believer that cast their vote for Obama.

And yet, I know this doesn’t shock God. The Lord wasn’t in heaven wringing his hands together wondering what the outcome would be, He is omniscient and fully in control, I trust and rest in that.  And I’m thankful for that. Christ reigns supreme over all - yesterday, today and forever.Phil. 2:9-11

I don’t think God is going to send abundant blessings to America for re-electing someone who support gay marriage and abortion. Someone who stands by watching Americans be slaughtered, while they watched it live. Not to mention reckless spending.

Obama told the Russian prime minister he would have "more flexibility" after the election. Flexibility to do WHAT?? America, I hope you’re ready for this. In 2016, if we have any freedoms left – I’ll consider that a blessing from God.

I will say, though, many want to say his re-election marks the beginning of end times but dare I say, America is not mentioned when it comes to end times. The only nation specifically mentioned in Scripture is Israel. Go ahead, throw rocks at me. If for some reason his re-election somehow spur the return of Jesus, I say great and bring it on! As much as I love my life here with family and friends, it’s still a broken and sinful – CORRUPT world. There are things in life I would like to do but I’m not arrogant enough to think I have to do them before His return. Nothing can come close to comparing eternity with this life.

"Furthermore, since they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, He gave them over to a depraved mind, to do what ought not be done. They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed, and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, rude, arrogant, and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they are senseless, faithless, heartless, ruthless. Although they know God's righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these things, but also approve of those who practice them." Romans 1:28-32 – I’m having a hard time not thinking of pre-flood and the wickedness of the people then and how it compares to now.

My status today, if I wanted to join in on it all (I know, you’re thinking I am joining in on it…sorry folks, my [for the most part] private  blog is different than a facebook), would have been this:

“Even so, come quickly Lord Jesus.”

Or you could just vote for Anna and Boppy in 2016.
