It’s that time again. Your favorite time of the week when you get to read all about my riveting life.

Sunday – Spent the afternoon with Lisa, later Jason and Megan joined us, church, The Score and driving around to play Wii. :)
Monday – 3 hour phone conversation with Emily
Tuesday – Dinner with the rents, Grandma and Grandpa, Gabe and Beka and entourage then “break up” Beaners convo
Wednesday & Thursday – Chicago with Marie and Ginger ;)  saying goodbye to Marie
Friday – Throwback night with Anna
Saturday – Setting up for Josh’s wedding, wedding and hanging out with Jem and Annie

    1. Sunday afternoon with Lisa was just good. I’m not sure there is anything else to be said. It was a much needed conversation. Almost 100% of the time, I would have told her to stop talking but I didn’t. It was needed for her to say and for me to hear. A weight was lifted from both of us. It was incredibly evident and I’m thankful to God that it happened before she was gone to Mexico.

    2. I’m house sitting at Aunt Priscilla’s house this week and next. I was gung ho ready to edit Monday night for hours. I made dinner and was about ready to go and Emily called. I had no idea it would last so long – I’m not sure we’ve ever talked that long but it was soo good.

    3. Confession. Last week, I bought nail polish for the first time in my life and this week,  I painted my own nails for the first time in my life. Ha, I know. That’s sad. I’m almost 24 years old. I am pretty sure anyone watching me would have just taken over, it was that sad.

    4. Wednesday morning we took off to Chicago. We had a genuinely good time. From wandering around Chicago trying to get to Shedd Aquarium, Rock Star Hotel, Chicago Pizza, to lying in bed chatting it up or playing the very complicated rule changing game of reasons. :) It was hard to say goodbye but I honestly wouldn’t have asked for a better way to end our time together and start Lisa’s trip to Mexico. It was such a great weekend…shoot, not weekend – 2 midweek days spent with 2 people I’m incredibly blessed, honored and encouraged by.

    5. Decisions to be made. While we were in Chicago, our Youth Pastor gave me a call and asked if I’d be interested in being a JH small group leader. I’m genuinely uncertain about this one. I’m not sure JH is my age and I know times have changed a lot since I was in JH. I’m not sure my reliability and understanding-ness would be very hand in hand with this age. It also meets during Sunday School, which I’m not sure I want to give up. Oh decisions and things to commit to prayer. I meet with Pastor Josh on Sunday night to retrieve more information. Then Friday afternoon I was called by my highschool alma mater – good ole Algoma Christian. They’ve heard I’m back in the area and was wondering if I would possibly coach some basketball. Huh. No way. That’s pretty cool if I do say so myself. I know it’s only Algoma but still it’d be fun. I’m not sure what age (JH/Varsity) head coach or assistant…details are to come.  Wow. Coaching. Um, something I’ve thought about and have always wondered if I’d even be good at. I don’t want to overcommit myself either. Meaning, if I decide on the basketball thing I’m not sure I can take on small group as well and vice versa. I know basketball would be a bigger commitment in a shorter amount of time and JH would be less of a commitment for a longer period of time (speaking in terms of actual time). I know being a small group leader equals a lot of investment but that can be done in many different ways. Basketball equals practices, games etc. I know if I took both, I could do it but overcommitting myself has always been an issue of mine. The word no is not an easy one for me – if I’m capable, I accept…but I think this time it has to be one or the other.

    6. Friday night was pretty great. It was fun to actually hang out with Anna outside of Chili dates. Don’t get me wrong, LOVE Chili’s dates but I’d say that was the first time we actually hung out doing something together other than sitting at Chili’s. Anyway, looked at some old photos and whipped out some home videos. Good times if I do say so myself. Well, we went kayaking last weekend but that was pretty centered around a certain fiasco…as the fiasco continues to be handled, we are able to put that aside and just be friends.

    7. Saturday was the last summer wedding for me. 6 weddings just this summer. Crazy. The entire day was absolutely nuts – not what I was expecting at all.

Maybe a little outline of points of highlights would be better.

    - started off by putting deodorant on the outside of my shirt. yeah, that alone should tell you it’s going to be a long day.
    - zoned out twice while following the gps to the Traverse house – went 20ish minutes out of my way
    - got to the Traverse house and realized I was in charge of setting the reception up
    - worked with mostly immature, snobby, gossipy girls…not enjoyable
    - after the wedding, headed to the reception to fix some things, add flowers and such – the caterers had still not shown up – so I decided to help them out, fill the water pitcher, puts mints and peanuts out…
    - during the reception Mrs. Traverse kept seeing things that weren’t completely done and asking me to fix them, didn’t get much sit time during that and I helped serve/cut veggies up
    - cleaned up the entire place as well…I didn’t feel right leaving
    - dinner at 9:30 pm with Jeremy’s extended family who had no recollection of me from his wedding
    - AND over to Sunday morning realized when I woke up and went to the bathroom that the straightener had been on since Saturday morning. Um, over 24 hours. Totally shocked the house wasn’t burned down.
